A continuation of the 1969 Topps "Super" issue in 1970 and 1971 Topps increased the size of the cards so that they actually were "super" now measuring 3 1/8" x 5 1/4". The cards were as was the case in 1969 beautiful borderless full-color photos the reverse of the card resembling the regular Topps issues of the respective year. The 1970 set numbered 42 cards the 1971 issue was expanded to 63. Largely ungraded this pair of complete sets from each season boasts an EX/MT to NM appearance the collection assembled by a very condition-conscious hobbyist who pulled together a beautiful run of sets (and consigned the gorgeous high-grade 1969 Super set featured in our last auction. Five cards have been graded by PSA all NM-MT 8: from the 1970 set #9 Tommy Harper #12 Roberto Clemente (HOF) #36 Ollie Brown #39 Willie Davis and from the 1971 set #53 Tom Seaver (HOF). A beautiful high-grade pair of complete sets from the 1970 and 1971 Topps Super issues.
