Exceptional collection of five (four of which are tinted) woodcut illustrations each picturing a baseball scene or team image. Collection includes the following: 1) June 27 1874 International Baseball - The Boston Champions: Picturing the Boston team including Hall of Famers James O'Rourke George Wright Harry Wright Deacon White and Al Spalding. VG/EX condition with some waviness light pencil writing in the margin and frayed edges and paper loss at the bottom. Appears to be printed on glossier paper perhaps a later print. 2) 1874 Boston Champions: from the June 27 1874 issue of Harper's Weekly the identical image used above though not tinted. Professionally matted and framed the framing prevents us from examinging the edges of the piece. 3) 1886 "The winning run - How is it Umpire?" as appeared in the August 28 1886 issue of Harper's Weekly depicting Buck Ewing slliding into home ahead of Chicago catcher Silver Flint. A beautiful piece that makes a wonderful display measuring 16" x 11" with some fraying and toning at the edges. 4) 1886 "The New Grounds of the Metropolitan Baseball Club on Staten Island"; originally the bottom half of a page from the May 13 issue of Harper's Weekly trimmed away from its page and measuring approximately 11" x 8" in VG/EX condition with some minor toning. 5) "A game of base-ball in the thirteenth regiment armory Brooklyn between members of the regiment - "Striker out". Trimmed from the top of its page measures approximately 11" x 8" with some fraying at the left edge where it was once attached to an adjacent page. Five woodcuts total.
