Extremely rare PCL issue featuring members of the Sacramento Solons. Each black and white photo features an action shot of one of 20 players. While it is still uncertain it is thought that "Big Eater" was some sort of candy. Outfielder Jimmy Lewis played eight minor league seasons most of which were spent in the PCL and NWL. He was a light hitter topping out in 1912 and 13 with batting averages under .290 and home run totals of 10 and 12 respectively. This card graded AUTH by SGC has a heavy crease across the center likely deep enough to create a tear that has been repaired with clear tape on the reverse (hence the grade). Still the "Big Eater" issue is extremely rare with even lower-grade examples reaching into four-figure territory. An outstanding and quite rare PCL card.
