The 1989 Topps Mets/Yankees Doubleheaders issue included 24 "Doubleheaders " a limited-run set that was test-marketed by Topps including miniature reproductions of each player's cards encased in a clear plastic "stand-up" holder. On one side of the holder was a miniature example of the player's 1989 Topps card; the reverse contained a reproduction of his rookie card. The checklist includes hall of Famers Gary Carter Dave Winfield and Rickey Henderson and also includes regional stars Darryl Strawberry Keith Hernandez David Cone Dwight Gooden Don Mattingly and Dave Righetti. The stand-ups are tougher to find with unopened material particularly scarce. Presented here is an unopened box including 24 unopened packs each containing one holder. Much more difficult to find the box does exhibit some wear at the edges and the perforation at the top edge has opened but the factory tape still seals the bottom edge shut. An attractive presentation a complete unopened box of a more difficult modern issue.
