The 1953 season was the last in which the hapless Browns would play in St. Louius. After the season the team moved to Baltimore and became the Baltimore Orioles. The team's opening game was a promising one though played in front of just 11 804 people at Sportsman's Park (by then called Busch Stadium). The Browns' ace Virgil Trucks took the mound against Ned Garver and the Browns proceeded to take the Detroit Tigers apart beating them by a 10-0 margin as every player in the Browns lineup except Trucks himself had at least one hit and one RBI. That would be one of the few high points of the Browns' 1953 season. The full ticket appears in EX condition with light wear particularly the front surface and presents very well. An excellent full ticket to the last-ever Opening Day for the St. Louis Browns.
