The numeral 2 printed on this 1913 World Series ticket stub actually refers to the second game at the Polo Grounds which was game 3 of the series. In that game the Athletics beat the home New York GIants by an 8-2 margin Eddie Collins collecting three hits and Eddie Murphy Rube Oldring and Home Run Baker collecting two each. Bullet Joe Bush pitched a complete game for the A's scattering five hits and four walks giving up just two runs (one earned). The Athletics would of course win the Series in five games. Difficult to find ticket stub exhibits wear thoughout including some minor smudging and light paper loss at the perf on the reverse FAIR condition but still quite desirable an early World Series ticket stub from the deadball era.
