Handwritten note on the letter head of the Greensburg PA Red Wings of the Pennsylvania State Association to Mr. Elmer Daily. Daily was the president of the Pennsylvania State Association between 1934 and 1942 and Hopper a player/manager who played first base is writing Daily to ask to be suspended due to a "charley horse." Hopper was in his first season as manager of the Montreal Royals in 1946 when he was tasked with managing Jackie Robinson in his first professional season. The team won the league championship that season as they would twice more under his guidance. Hopper is a member of the International League Hall of Fame.
