Spectacular Horace Partridge brand Milwaukee Braves cap dated to 1954 as worn by ouotfielder Bobby Thomson in his first year with the ballclub. The author of one of the most famous home runs in baseball history Thomson had an off-year in 1954 batting just .232 with only 2 home runs in 99 at bats the result of an ankle injury suffered while sliding into second base in a spring training game against the Yankees. Thomson's career would rebound somewhat in 1955 and he would play another five seasons retiring after the 1960 campaign. The cap is quite attractive a two-tone cap with an embroidered "M" on the front. Thomson's uniform number 20 appears on the interior brim as does his signature. The leather interior band is well worn and stained. A tremendous vintage cap as worn by one of the most popular players of his era. LOA from MEARS.
