Exceptional Rawlings size 42 jersey manufactured for use in the Cracker Jack Old Timers Baseball Classic some time between 1982 and 1985. Between 1982 and 1985 Cracker Jack sponsored the game which was played at RFK Stadium in Washington DC. The brainchild of Atlanta Braves VP Dick Cecil the premise was to stage an authentic five-inning game that pitted old-timers against one another a more competitive game than the Old Timers exhibitions put on by many teams. The games were televised by ESPN and each player received $1 000 plus travel expenses for participating. The games got off to an auspicious start in 1982 when 75-year-old Luke APpling connected off Warren Spahn for a headline-making 275-foot home run over the left field fence. Sadly the games did not have the support of Major League Baseball and so instead of using individual team logos and uniforms the organizers designed special American and National League uniforms for the players to wear. Robinson signed the jersey at the right shoulder the white American League jersey exhibiting some staining and signs of wear. Also presented here is a size 7 1/4 New Era American LEague cap also worn by Robinson. The great third baseman signed the cap on the outside of the brim. The jersey received a perfect grade of A10 from MEARS. Full LOA on both jersey and cap from MEARS. Two pieces total.
