Sharp high-grade rookie card of running back Ernie Davis the first African-American recipient of the Heisman Trophy. Davis played for Syracuse and was the first pick of the draft in 1962 selected by the Washington Redskins and immediately traded to Cleveland. Davis never played a down having been diagnosed with leukemia in the summer of 1962 and dying a year later at the obscenely young age of 23. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1979.
