Quite possibly unique panoramic postcard measuring 11" x 3 1/2" picturing the Polo Grounds from deep in centerfield. Taken during game play the stands are full players on the field. While the card is relatively clean and the image crisp and clear the left and right edges of the piece both exhibit significant wear in the form of heavy creasing on the very left edge and discoloration and paper clipping at the upper-right corner. Copyright credit is given to the Pictorial News Co. the advertising message promoting Pennsylvania Portland Cement the implication being that the cement was used to construct the Polo Grounds. We have never seen an example of this postcard before; it is quite possible that this is the only surviving example. A fascinating panoramic postcard featuring the Polo Grounds during in-game play.
