Beyond the inherent desirability of Army/Navy collectibles this game carries historical significance in that it was the final collegiate game of two legendary Heisman Trophy winners: Doc Blanchard (who won in 1945) and Glenn Davis (who won in 1946). The two backs "Mr. Inside" and "Mr. Outside " were three-time National Champions and went onto be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
