While he may not have been able to direct you how to get to Electric Avenue Philadelphia infielder Eddie Grant was an outstanding defensive third baseman with a reputation as a light hitter who was a regular in the Phillies lineup in the late 1900s. His career began tailing off in 1911 some say a result of a personal tragedy and by 1916 was out of the major leagues. This example is particularly interesting the rarity and desirability of the Rose Company Postcard issue enhanced by the advertisement for Greenfield's Delatour Chocolates on the reverse of the postcard. Postally used in 1909 the card does exhibit considerable wear and writing on the reverse but the ad itself displays well as does the image on the front of the card. An interesting and difficult example.
