Bright and colorful trio of Hall of Famers who will forever be linked in history thanks to the Franklin Pierce Adams poem "Baseball's Sad Lexicon": These are the saddest of possible words:"Tinker to Evers to Chance."Trio of bear cups and fleeter than birds Tinker and Evers and Chance.Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble Making a Giant hit into a double-Words that are heavy with nothing but trouble:"Tinker to Evers to Chance." A beautiful and timeless eight-line tribute to the Cubs infielders who robbed many an opponent of base hits that turned into double plays. The cards themselves are attractive collector-grade examples a breakdown of which is as follows: 1) Joe Tinker (HOF): "Hands on Knees" pose graded FR 1.5 by SGC due to overall wear most pronounced along the top edge. 2) Johnny Evers (HOF): "Cubs on Shirt" pose graded VG 3 by SGC with slight corner rounding perhaps just pronounced enough to keep the card from a higher holder. 3) Frank Chance (HOF): Portrait yellow background pose graded GD+ 2.5 by SGC but with eye appeal greater than the Evers odd since both were graded on the same submission. Regardless a clean and well-centered card. Three popular Hall of Famers in total.
