Extremely strong N173 cabinet featuring a difficult pose of Brooklyn pitcher Bob Caruthers boasting exceptional detail and clarity so strong in fact that individual uniform wrinkles and grass blades are visible. The GOOD 2 grade assigned by SGC refers primarily to some slight staining and paper loss on the reverse the paper loss the likely result of long-ago scrapbook removal. An exceptional card of a desirable player from the era Caruthers was a legitimate star between 1884 and 1891 winning 40 games twice 30 once and exceeding 20 wins three times more. EDITED TO ADD: We missed a pinhole! At the National Sports Collectors Convention a collector was inspecting this card in person and pointed out a small speck on the mount along the bottom above the "G" in "Cigarettes." It can be seen in the scan but does not appear to be a pinhole until it is inspected more carefully. We are sending an errata email to all customers who have placed bids giving them the opportunity to cancel their bids by emailing [email protected] before noon on August 7. All bids placed after that time will stand.
