Exceptionally clean and bright 1995 Cleveland Indians road jersey worn by Hall of Famer Eddie Murray. By 1995 Murray had established himself as a Hall of Famer and was chasing his 500th career home run. He was however still an extremely productive player batting .323 with 21 home runs and 82 RBI as the team's full-time DH. His most productive years however were spent in Baltimore where he was a dominant first baseman with the Orioles. This attractive Russell Athletic jersey is tagged for 1995 with all the proper sizing construction and tagging. It is important to note that while MEARS has assigned a grade of A5 to this jersey A5 is their base grade for any post-1987 jersey that does not carry clear provenance. While the consignor of this jersey Ted Patterson was a longtime Baltimore Orioles broadcaster with close ties to many Orioles players and while he is the owner of several Murray jerseys we cannot unequivocally state that this jersey was given to him directly by Murray and hence it cannot grade higher than A5. It is however part of an extraordinary uniform collection and meets all the standards of a game-worn 1995 Indians jersey. An exceptional piece once worn by a Hall of Famer and one of the greatest players of his era.
