Perhaps the most condition-sensitive of all the caramel issues the E103 Williams Caramel cards are printed on extremely lightweight paper and are subject to all manner of wear. We have in the past sold common cards from the issue with paper loss obscuring part of the card front and the cards sold well regardless due to the scarcity of the issue. In this instance the card of Hall of Famer Chief Bender has been graded VG+ 3.5 by SGC and of the 17 examples graded by SGC just one - a lone example graded EX 5 - has graded higher. PSA has graded an additional 14 examples and just one EX card is tallied on their rolls perhaps both cards graded EX being the same card. Regardless this is an extraordinary example for the issue an E103 without paper loss or creasing a bright red background with the majority of the wear restricted to the corners and reverse.
