I have one to sell!
One of our favorite cards in the T206 issue the card of Tris Speaker depicts the Boston outfielder about to swing his Hall of Fame bat his white uniform contrasting sharply against a rich blue background. This example has been graded Authentic by SGC due to being a bit thin from a likely shave on both the left and right edges. Early plastic sheets were cut slightly narrow for tobacco cards and many collectors thought nothing of slightly trimming the edges of their cards so that they could provide a better fit. We believe it is likely that was the fate of this example as opposed to anything intended to be deceptive. The card appears bright and bold but yes the small white specks in the bacgrkound omn SPeaker's face and hand appear on the card not on the holder. We believe the two specks on Speaker are not paper loss but something extra perhaps a small splatter of paint or white out. The speck in the air above Speaker's head unfortunately we cannot tell whether it is extra or paper loss. Regardless of all this conjecture an attractive card of a key Hall of Famer.
