Issued by the Worch Cigar Company of St. Paul MN this rare postcard-sized issue utilized photos which appeared in the Minneapolis Star and St. Paul Dispatch newspapers. Though the cards do not mention the Worch company anywhere on them they were distributed by mail in Worch Cigar envelopes hence their name. The cards are found in multiple styles with player names either printed or on the background with or without a team name in a white or black box. They are typically not found in high grade. Indeed of nearly 300 examples from the issue to have been graded by PSA just nine have graded EX-MT or better including this stunning example of Chuck Klein the Philadelphia Phillies' Hall of Famer. This is the highest-graded specimen assessed by PSA (though one other Klein exists at the same grade level) a bright and clean example with mild corner wear consistent with the grade and not much other wear of which to speak. A tremendous card from a scarce and highly sought-after issue.
