Collection of tickets and stubs from the Polo Grounds for the 1951 World Series. The first World Series for Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays and the last for Joe DiMaggio. Giant fans headed into the Series on a high after Bobby Thomson's legendary home run. The Yankees would take the series in six games winning three straight including two at the Polo Grounds despite missing the injured Mantle. Collection includes: 1) Game 3 Ticket Stub: Giants defeat the Yankees 6-2. Stub is in good condition an uneven tear at the perforation and some slight staining being the primary condition flaws noted on the stub. 2) Game 4 Ticket Stub: Yankees 6 Giants 2 with a Joe DiMaggio home run. Outstanding appearance VG condition with a slightly uneven tear at the perf along with some light edge and corner wear. A few spots of soiling on the reverse. 3) Game 5 Full Ticket: Yankees 13 Giants 1 home runs by Gil McDougald and Phil Rizzuto. Clean ticket exhibits some slight toning and a few very minor stains at the edges softer corners and slight edge wear overall an outstanding ticket. Three pieces total.
