Interesting document dated to July 5 1947 on St. Paul Saints letterhead to the league president George Trautman regarding the transfer of Duke Snider fromthe Dodgers. Snider made the Dodgers' Opening Day roster in 1947 but did not play frequently struggling at the plate. On July 4 the Dodgers sent him to St. Paul where he had an outstanding offensive season and was brought back to the Dodgers as a late-season callup. The piece is in outstanding condition with official team stamps and initials in the upper-right corner otherwise unblemished. An excellent document of the history of one of the greatest players in Brooklyn Dodgers history.
