Simply incredible framed piece containing tobacco cards of key members of the Chicago Cubs along with a linen stadium postcard and a season ticket from 1909. Professionally matted and framed to a finished size of 21" x 19" this piece (and several others like it in this auction) is the result of a passionate collector's desire to live among his collection rather than store it away. His home decorated with similar displays each thoughtfully assembled and framed in conjunction with professional framers. This example includes 22 T205 T206 and T207 cards of Chicago players. The cards themselves boast strong visual appeal however it is important to note that the framing job prohibits us from examining edges or backs for damage and certainly prevents us from examining backs for scarcity. Please bid expecting that the cards themselves will largely be collector-grade to midgrade with nothing stronger but all will boast strong eye appeal. Included in the frame are the following: 1) 1909-11 T206 (14 cards): Jack Pfeister (seated) Mordecai Brown (HOF - Portrait) Pat Moran Carl Lundgren Frank Chance (HOF - Portrait) Johnny Kling Jimmy Slagle Johnny Evers (HOF - Portrait) Solly Hofman Heinie Zimmerman harry Steinfeldt Del Howard Joe Tinker (HOF - Portrait) and Orval Overall; 2) 1911 T205 (6 cards): Lew Richie Ed Reulbach Rube Kroh Wildfire Schulte Joseph Sheckard and James Archer; 3) 1912 T207 (2 cards): Leonard Cole and Matty McIntyre. The season ticket is the type removed from a ticket book and may actually be the cover of the book itself. An outstanding vintage display it is the hope of our consignor that the winning bidder apprecaites the beauty of the display and considers keeping the piece housed as it is here. 22 cards one ticket and one postcard total.
