Produced at the end of 1888 by the S.F. Hess Company of Rochester New York the N333 issue is one of the rarest of the era. Featuring members of the Newsboy baseball league this set's rarity is often disregarded since it does not feature Major League Players. Featuring Mayer of the New York World this example is spectacular a clear example of when to "buy the card and not the holder." Featuring a crisp clean image square corners and very little overall wear some surface abrasions on the reverse are largely responsible for the grade. Not only a rare and misunderstood card but one in a condition that is very rare for the issue.
