Beautiful stamp album dating to 1943 documenting the Cuban Amateur league of that season. The 7 1/4" x 9 3/4" album was designed to house 240 paper thin album stamps that were intended to be glued into the book which also contains biographical and statistical information on each player along with some basic information on the league and its teams. The album and its contents are typically found in poor condition; this example is somewhat stronger than that with visible toning and signs of wear but ultimately sturdy and strong despite considerable wear and separation at the spine. Approximately 170 stamps are included in the album including a few better-known players like Sandy Consuegra. Some pencil writing is evident on some of the interior pages which are delicate but still intact. A difficult pre-Castro Cuban baseball piece.
