Collection of five cards from the popular "horizontal Brownies" baseball trade card series. The cards each featured an illustration of miniature players using equipment that was too big for them. The Brownies were featured in a series of publications by Canadian illustrator and author Palmer Cox. The cartoon strip characters were popular during the late 19th and early 20th Century and were used to advertise a host of items during that time. The colorful images exhibit strong eye appeal with some slight wear at the corners (including the "Umpire catches it" card which has two corner clips." The "Brownies Baseball Grounds" card has two pinholes at the top corners. The cards do exhibit some toning and what appears to be scrapbook remnants on the reverse of several. Five cards total.
