I have one to sell!
Extraordinary 19th Century card of Danny Richardson from an issue so rare that little is known about the cards themselves. The examples that have been discovered to date likely date the set to 1886 though so few cards have been discovered (less than a half dozen are known to exist) theories about their origin are little more than speculation. Each of the known examples depict members of the New York Giants leading to speculation that the cards may be part of a team issue. Their design however is quite similar to the N690 Kalamazoo Bats portrait cards (the Richardson in that set in fact is strikingly similar) and the image itself is identical to that of Richardson's 1888 G&B Chewing Gum card. The design similarities lead some to believe that the cards may have been a regional tobacco issue of some sort. Regardless the cards are extremely rare highly coveted by type collectors and 19th Century enthusiasts alike. This example is outstanding graded VG/EX+ 4.5 by SGC due to some very light surface soiling but very little additional wear. The image quality is excellent with sharp contrast. Corners and edges exhibit very little wear. An incredibly rare card one of just a handful known to exist from the issue.
