Ballplayers from the short-lived Player's League were represented on N172 Old Judge cards that were produced only in 1890. The cards are some of the few collectibles we have of the league today; the league included many of the best players of the National League but lasted just one season. Since 1890 was the final year that the N172 Old Judge issue was produced the cards from that year are considered scarce and cards with a Player's League designation even more so. The cards are very rare today. Presented here is a Player's League card of Hall of Famer Dan Brouthers. For the grade the card presents very well a pronounced crease visible across the center of the card and a second less visible crease cuts diagonally at the upper-left. Natural edge and corner wear is visible and a vintage owner's stamp graces the reverse. Like most of the 1890 Old Judges the image appears somewhat faded though it is clearly visible. A rare and significant Old Judge a Hall of Famer from a seldom-encountered subset.
