The 1912 Boston Red Sox won the American League pennant and proceeded to defeat the New York Giants in the World Series an eight-game affair that included a tie and a near riot on the part of Boston's Royal Rooters whose customery seats on Duffy's Cliff were sold to other fans. Presented is a beautiful example of the 1912 Photo Art Shop postcard featuring the 1912 team including Hall of Famers Tris Speaker and Harry Hooper along with stars Smoky Joe Wood Duffy Lewis Buck O'Brien and Hugh Bedient. Graded FAIR 1.5 by SGC the card image has the appearance of a higher-grade card save for a crease at the upper-left corner. The reverse slightly soiled contains pencil writing that reads "Hurrah for the Pink Stockings." Indeed.
