Four important postwar Hall of Famers each graded AUTHENTIC by SGC for reasons we cannot ascertain but perhaps related to the paper stock itself. The cards were ungraded when consigned many stored within screwdown holders that seemed to have been subjected to some sort of water damage. The result can be seen in the Koufax rookie particularly on the reverse which has some spots of mold evident. Included in the collection are: 1) 1955 Topps #123 Sandy Koufax (HOF RC); 2) 1960 Topps #563 Mickey Mantle All-Star (HOF); 3) 1968 Topps #177 Nolan Ryan (HOF RC); 4) 1972 Topps #79 Cooper/Fisk (HOF RC). Four attractive examples of very desirable postwar Hall of Fame cards rendered more affordable due to the AUTHENTIC grades.
