Five thousand dollars was all it took in the winter of 1909 for the Washington Senators to pry infielder Kid Elberfeld away from the New York Highlanders. He would have two more productive seasons in Washington before being sold to the Montgomery Rebels of the Southern Association. The signing with Washington created the need for a team change on his T206 card; the result is a scarce variation that exists only with 150 and 350 Series backs. This example is graded VG/EX 4 by SGC a clean and well-centered specimen with only corner wear and some very slight surface abrasion at the lower border to blame for the grade.
