Another scarce bread issue the Tip Top Bread set of 1910 was features beautiful lithographs of the 1909 Pittsburgh Pirates. The set was given away free as a redemption in exchange for 50 Tip Top Bread labels. This highly collectible set features two Hall of Famers - Honus Wagner and Fred Clarke. This Clarke presents far better than the assigned grade. Virtually VG-EX on the front (though a minor crease at the top left corner would have likely kept the card in a VG holder) the reverse of the card has a horizontal stain across the center of the card that is clearly the result of a strip of Scotch tape. The card however does not have any back damage from the tape leading us to believe that it"s possible that the tape is still actually on the card (it"s difficult to tell even under a loupe while the card is in the holder). Still this is a beautiful example of one of just two Hall of Famers available from a difficult card type.Population Data:PSA Population: 14 total graded 1 at this level 8 higherSGC Population: 18 total graded 2 at this level 13 higher
