I have one to sell!
Likely the most infamous game in the second half of the 20th Century the "Buckner Game" was Game 6 of the 1986 World Series. Trailing the Series 3 games to 2 the Mets managed to chase home an 8th inning run to tie the game at 3 where it would stand until the top of the 10th. In that frame Dave Henderson hit a solo home run off Mets closer Rick Aguilera and the Red Sox pushed home another run on hits by Wade Boggs and Marty Barrett and entered the bottom of the tenth with a 5-3 lead. In that inning Red Sox manager John McNamara elected to leave first baseman Bill Buckner suffering from ankle problems in the game so that he could be on the field when the Red Sox won. Three consecutive two-out singles plated a run and bringing Mookie Wilson to the plate. Against relief pitcher Bob Stanley Wilson battled to a 2-2 count the Red Sox needing just one strike to win the World Series. Instead Wilson dribbled an easy ground ball down the first base line that rolled through Buckner's legs scoring two runs and winning the game for the Mets. Simply one of the most amazing finishes to a baseball game that you will ever see. The Mets of course went on to win Game 7 and capture the Series. Presented here is a stub from that game graded VG 3 by PSA due to overall wear particularly at the corners. Presentation is strong. A must for the collection of any Mets fan or Red Sox hater.
