Lot Description  

George "Piano Legs" Gore was featured in no fewer than nine different poses in the N172 issue this one catalogued as card #196-9. The image clarity and contrast is exceptionally strong here though the card has received a grade of POOR due to surface creasing and significant back damage likely the result of long-ago scrapbook removal. Still an outstanding example of a popular 19th Century ballplayer.
