Fascinating Reach Official Scorebook measuring 6 3/4" x 4 1/4" durable but soft-bound featuring individual scoresheets inside. Owned by Sporting News writer William Weart the book contains major league games scored from the 1915 16 and 17 seasons. Approxmiately 15 games have been scored including the October 8 1915 World Series game that saw a 9th inning pinch-hit appearance by Babe Ruth the 3-1 Phillies victory their only win in the 5-game series. It was the first World Series appearance of Ruth's legendary career. Weart signed his name and address in pencil on the inside cover. The book appears to be in GOOD condition the cover peeling away from its backing to reveal its original title ("Brick Making Catalog") the spine attractively reinforced at some point with what appears to be red-colored fabric or duct tape. A few pages have come loose inside the book but it remains a significant piece chronicling some early Red Sox games including the first World Series appearance of Babe Ruth.
