Beautiful Opening Day ticket stub die cut into the shape of a catcher's mitt commemorating the start of the 1940 season. The Dodgers avenged their 1939 Opening Day loss to the Giants by routing them by a 12-0 score on Opening Day of 1940. A stellar pitching performance by Hugh Casey was augmented by four RBI from Cookie Lavagetto as the Dodgers exploded for six runs in the 8th inning to break the game wide open. The stub appears in VG condition with a crease at the folding area and some light staining near the tear. Still an outstanding Ebbets Field artifact.
