Grouping of five collector-grade cards from the 1930 W554 strip card issue including two from the tougher second series of this issue characterized by a more pure black-and-white image and no player ID on the bottom border.. These oversized cards measure 5" x 7" and are typically marred by a variety of condition issues due to their large size. Many are marred by tack holes or excessive corner wear or tape marks on the reverse due to handling or display. Presented here are a group of five cards from the issue each in lower technical grades but containing strong images of the players. Each has a blank back. Included are the following: 1) Mickey Cochrane (HOF): poor condition with a large corner clip at the lower-right and tackhole at the top center along with general wear and soiling. 2) Lefty Grove (HOF): Series 2 card poor condition with a tackhole at the top center along with visible staining surface abrasions and general wear. 3) Chuck Klein (HOF): Series 2 card fair condition pinhole and surface abrasions some light creasing and soiling. 4) Herb Pennock (HOF): fair to good condition some light wear and a pinhle at the top-left along with visible corner wear. 5) Eddie Rommel: fair condition with a small pinhole at the top left surface wear including mild creasing some staninng on Rommel's back and two small specks of paper loss on the front. Due to their size the condition flaws do impact the technical grade without having as much of an impact on eye appeal as the visual area of each card is very large. An excellent grouping of cards from a tougher W-card issue. Five cards total. Incorrectly noted as 1936 cards in our printed catalog.
