The 1954 Wilson Franks issue is one of the most popular and highly sought-after of all the regional food issues due in part to excellent player selection and due in part to the beautiful colorful design that is reminiscent of the 1954 Topps baseball set. Higher-grade examples are difficult to find substantially less than 10% of all the examples graded by PSA have reached the NM-MT level. This example of Dodgers pitcher Carl Erskine is sharp and colorful with corners worthy of the EX-MT assessment slightly off-center from left to right. And as we occasionally must do we will take this opportunity to pay tribute to our friend the late Chris Stufflestreet who invariably made the same remark when viewing cards from this set: "Watch out Carl you're about to be hit with a flying pack of hot dogs."
