Phenomenal team photo picturing the Martinsburg West Virginia Blue Sox of the Blue Ridge League. The Martinsburg team produced just three major leaguers but one was pretty important: Hack Wilson pictured here at the bottom row far right. Wilson projects pure confidence in the photo in his first full professional season. His prior season with Martinsburg Wilson broke his leg sliding into home but the following season he hit 30 home runs in just 84 games with the team. He would go on to put together a stellar offensive career including one of the greatest offensive seasons in history. His baseball career unfortunately would eventually be disrupted by alcoholism. The postcard itself is fantastic grading GOOD 30 due to overall wear and soiling that is much heavier on the reverse. The team image is excellent Wilson's picture easily identifiable. A stellar pre-rookie image of superstar Hack Wilson.
