In late 2007 a donut box - yes a donut box - was introduced to the hobby at auction featuring 18 cards of various American heroes printed directly onto the box. At that time collectors could finally see the origin of the Doughnut Corporation of America's "Thrilling Moments" cards. While boxes certainly existed in private collections prior to the 2007 discovery it wasn't until the 2007 box sold for a staggering $17 500 that the origin of the cards became widely known. The individual cards part of a 72-card set were meant to be cut out of the box and affixed into an album called "Thrilling Moments in the Lives of Famous Americans." The album contained biographical information on each of the subjects which included Abraham Lincoln Charles Lindburgh Babe Ruth Sitting Bull George Washington Teddy Roosevelt Jack Dempsey and more. Generally found in lower grades this Red Grange card has been graded EX 5 by PSA overall a very attractive card for the issue with minimal wear.
