Signed player contract for the 1943 season between shortstop Jake Caulfield and the Oakland Oaks. Caulfield who was paid $350 per month hit .246 as the starting shortstop for the sixth-place Oaks that season. He played three seasons with the Oaks with his best being 1945 when he hit .296 with 82 runs scored in 676 at bats. He was rewarded with a cup of coffee with the Philadelphia A"s in 1946 and finished his career with several minor league teams in 1947 and 48.This AA Uniform Players Contract is in excellent condition with only the normal folds and markings typical to a player contract along with the edge and corner wear one would associate with years of storage. Signed in bold black ink by Caulfield once and Oaks Owner Vic "Cookie" DeVincenzi twice. An outstanding piece of Pacific Coast League history commemorating a storied franchise and its owner.
