Spectacular team postcard featuring the Oakland Walkovers a semipro team sponsored by the WalkOver Shoe Company. Future Hall of Famer Edd Roush found his first paying baseball job with the team earning one dollar per game. Roush remained with the team until 1911 when he jumped in favor of a better offer but his time with the Walkovers begame well-known due to the inclusion of a photo of himself in his Walkovers uniform that was published in the book The Glory Of Their Times. This is an exceptional pre-rookie postcard with a strong sharp image depicting the team in a photography studio. Graded FAIR 20 by SGC the piece does exhibit wear consistent with the grade but the image itself is quite strong with excellent contrast.
