Difficult-to-find wax wrapper from the 1939 Playball issue. Measuring approximately 4" x 6" the wax wrapper features colorful red white and blue artwork that celebrates the centennial of baseball with line illustrations of various players along the top depicting the evolution of the baseball uniform. The wrapper is entirely intact with no visible tears naturally-serrated top and bottom edges. Obviously considerable surface wrinkling is evident primarily due to having been folded around the baseball cards but also simply due to age-related wear and tear. Still an outstanding and scarce piece with excellent eye appeal.
