Though we prefer to offer items as close to individual lots as we can occasionally we find it necessary to offer a "grab bag" of odds and ends that comprise a number of different items presenting outstanding value for collectors or dealers. Included here are the following: 1) 1910s Ad Wolgast Premium: We are unsure of the origin of this 9 1/2" x 12" illustration of the great HOFer but it is a striking full-color rendering. 2) 1926 Fight of the Century Transfer Pictures (11 sheets): Single-sheet of German transfers that has an analogous baseball issue. The sheet contains portraits of Dempsey and Tunney and scenes from their "Long Count" fight the stamps intended to be separated. A few of the scenes flow across two stamps. The stamps in the top row are routinely found with staple holes where they were attached to the backing board (the rare header card is featured elsewhere in this auction); 3) Boxing Handbill Collection: Two tough-to-find handbills given their throw-away nature: 1980 Ruben Olivares (HOF) vs. Sergio Reyes (in Mexico); 1979 Rafael "Bazooka" Limon vs. Miguel Estrada (in Texas); 4) Japan World Boxing Premium Pair: from the Japanese magazine that was often the sole source of boxing cards during its years of publication. Includes Kaosai Galaxy (HOF) and Jung Koo Kang (HOF); 5) 1960s-70s Fan Fotos Collection (16): One of two mail-offer photo series depicting boxers from the era (the other was Sport Pix) these printed cards contain career-contemporary premiums of many fighters with few other cards. The issue varied in size and format through the years.
