Hall of Fame pitcher Dizzy Dean's endorsement of Grape Nuts cereal was one of the more effective athlete-related product marketing campaigns of its era. A host of advertising pieces and retail displays are known to the hobby bearing Dean's likeness and his image was used to promote a contest by which youngsters could redeem Grape Nuts box tops for various prices including a Dizzy Dean "membership pin " winner's ring lucky rabbit's foot and a number of other prizes not bearing Dean's image or name. This attractive fold-out pamphlet details some of the prizes youngsters could "win" by redeeming their box tops. The image of Dean in Cardinals uniform standing with three children in front of a pile of toys graces the cover with significant marketing copy and colorful imagery on the interior spread. Depression-era marketing copy urges kids to "tell your mother" that just two tablespoons of Grame Nuts with whole milk and fruit provide "more varied nourishment than many a hearty meal." In VG/EX condition with some mild staining age-related wrinking and a few specs of paper loss on the interior.
