Whenever a Honus Wagner T206 makes its way back into the hobby via auction the sale is greeted with significant fanfare and media attention. We don't understand what the excitement is all about - we have 35! Presented here is a grouping of 35 T206 Honus Wagner cards that were produced by Topps in 2000 and distributed at the 2000 Topps Fanfest to market the 2000 sale of the famous "Gretzky/McNall" Honus Wagner. The card famously sold for $1 265 000 continuing the run of amazing sales prices for the hobby's most famous card. To further add to the hype the cards were graded by the hobby's newest entry into the grading business GAI staffed by hobby veterans and greeted among collectors with much enthusiasm. Our knowledge of both GAI and the Gretzky/McNall Wagner have been augmented over time but the mystique of the T206 Wagner itself survives and grows. And while we feel confident that the sale of a true authentic T206 Wagner is just around the corner for Love of the Game for now we'll be content to offer this interesting peek into hobby history. 35 cards total.
