One of three subjects who"s team name was changed during the printing of the T206 series known as "Group 1 " George Browne moved from Chicago to Washington in 1909 and thus the team designation on his card was changed. Though one might think that the Chicago version would be more scarce that has not proven to be the case as there were many Chicago versions already in circulation by the time the Washington version was produced. Today the graded population of Washington variation outnumbers that of the Chicago version nearly 2 to 1 with very few higher grade examples known. This is a very attractive example graded EX 5 by PSA with square corners and strong color with just a hint of discoloration along the bottom border and along the edges of the back - likely due to simple toning. One of the more difficult cards in the T206 issue.Population DataPSA Population: 54 total graded 6 at this level 8 higher*SGC Population: 40 total graded 1 at this level 2 higher*Please note that PSA just recently began to differentiate between T206 back variations in their population reports so it is entirely possible that other examples of this card may have been graded by PSA and classified in their pop reports as "unknown back."
