I have one to sell!
With the exception of the monstrously popular 1952 Topps issue it is quite possible that the 1953 Bowman Color set is the most popular of all the postwar vintage card issues. Featuring simplistic designs with beautiful full-color photography the dynamic player photos have long drawn the admiration of collectors with many of the cards among the most popular of the given subject. Presented here is a collector-grade complete set carefully assembled by a dedicated collector with primary consideration given to overall eye appeal occasionally at the expense of more pronounced technical flaws. With a grade breakdown of 16% EX; 40% VG/EX; 30% VG; 11% G; and 3% F/P/Trimmed the technical grade falls at the lower end of the spectrum. The eye appeal of the cards however is often far greater than that of the assigned grades particularly with collectors who value image quality over corners and centering. A breakdown of the key cards is as follows: #9 Rizzuto EX; #10 Ashburn VG/EX; #18 Fox VG/EX; #32 Musial VG; #33 Reese G; #40 Doby VG/EX; #44 Berra/Bauer/Mantle G/F; #46 Campanella G; #51 Irvin EX; #55 Durocher VG/EX; #59 Mantle G; #61 Kell VG; #65 Roberts VG; #80 Kiner VG/EX; #81 Slaughter F; #93 Rizzuto/Martin F; #97 Mathews G; #99 Spahn VG/EX; #101 Schoendienst VG/EX; #114 Feller VG; #117 Snider P; #121 Berra VG; #143 Lopez VG/EX; #146 Wynn EX; #153 Ford F. The perfect set for a collector longing to build a 1953 Bowman Color set by purchasing it complete and gradually upgrading as the majority of the set's cards would not seem out of place alongside higher-grade examples. 160 cards total.
