Outstanding signed postcard of the first black Heavyweight Champion. Johnson's match with Jim Jeffries in 1910 was the first "Fight of the Century" of the 20th Century garnering significant national attention as Johnson decisively beat Jeffries. "L'il Arthur " as his family called him died in a 1947 traffic accident. Postally unused this oversized postcard depicts Johnson in a familiar pose (there are many period postcards with similar images) signed boldly and decisively in large lettering across the reverse.
