Attractive collection of ten cards from this difficult 1969 test issue. Topps 4-on-1s feature standard card-sized stickers each featuring four miniature stickers in the design of Topps" regular-issue baseball cards. The complete set features 25 different cards each with four stickers amounting to 100 different subjects. The 1969 Topps card design lends itself well to a format like this since the cards each lean heavily on photography and do not overly rely on graphic design elements. The result is that each "card" contains four strong and very visible stickers. These cards are extremely susceptible to a variety of condition issues most notably the peeling away of the decals from their blank backing. Additionally the cards are prone to wear at the corners and edges just like normal baseball cards. The result is a very delicate issue difficult to find in top condition. This is an outstanding group of these cards containing what is arguably the key card in the set that featuring Hall of Famer Willie Mays. The cards all appear EX/MT but two are beginning to peel away from their backing and two (including the Mays) exhibit what appears to be age-related toning. Cards included in this collection are as follows:#1 Adair/Wilson/Willie Mays (HOF)/Morris (VG/EX toning); #2 Clendenon/Woodward/Tommie Aaron/Britton (EX/MT) #4 French/Selma/Callison/Harris (VG/EX toning) #7 Houston Rookies/Bunker/Gibbon/Cardwell (EX/MT) #9 Lefebvre/Purdin/Dillman/Roseboro (EX/MT) #14 Jim Perry/World Series Game 7/Arrigo/Red Sox Rookies (appears EX/MT but is peeling) #16 Rodgers/Horton/Face/Brinkman (EX) #17 Sadecki/Baldwin/Martin/May (EX) #20 Weaver/Tracewski/Grzenda/Howard (P peeling) and #21 White Sox Rookies/McLain/Jackson/AzcueA scarce group of cards from an important Topps test issue from their most prolific period for baseball test issues.
