Issued by the Ligget and Myers Tobacco Co. in 1913 the T200 set consisted of 16 high-gloss team photographs printed on lightweight brittle paper and placed inside tins of Fatima Cigarettes ostensibly atop the cigarettes with the backs actually touching the tobacco. The brittle paper has made the cards susceptible to a multitude of condition issues including cracking and creasing. For some unknown reason five of the sixteen T200 cards are significantly more difficult to obtain than the others. The two most difficult are the Yankees and Browns cards. The second most difficult are the Braves and Detroit Tigers (the Cardinals card is the fifth). Presented here is a collector-grade copy of the scarce Detroit Tigers card graded A by SGC due to a tear across the middle of the card that has been repaired with tape. In addition to HOFer Ty Cobb the T200 Fatima Tigers card includes HOFers Sam Crawford and Hughie Jennings. This is an affordable example of a very difficult to obtain card certainly one of the keys to a fascinating and beautiful set.Population data:SGC Population: 49 total graded 4 at this level 45 higherPSA Population: 58 total graded 2 at this level 56 higher
